It is possible to work hard, defend truth, endure suffering, and remain active in ministry while our affection for Jesus slowly grows cold. First love is more than remembering past encounters or maintaining a religious routine. It is a life where Jesus is deeply loved, desired, and treasured above everything else.</p><p>Through Mary of Bethany, Paul’s longing to know Christ, and the picture of the Bride preparing for her Bridegroom, we are called back to intimacy that produces obedience. The Bridegroom is coming, and He is preparing not merely a working Church, but a loving Bride whose whole heart belongs to Him.</p>
