1 Corinthians 1:21-25 | The Foolishness of God
The world looks at Christians and sees a group of wise fools, people staking everything on a 2,000-year-old book and a Savior who died as a criminal between two thieves. And according to Scripture, that misunderstanding is not an accident.
Paul tells the Corinthians that the world's failure to reason its way to God is exactly what God intended. The Jews demanded signs, the Greeks demanded wisdom, and both got a crucified Messiah instead. This message walks through why God frustrates human wisdom, what the cross exposes about every other path to God, and why the church so often falls silent in front of a world that calls the gospel moronic. If the gospel is the one thing that can pull people out of the wreck they are in, why are we standing by watching them try everything else?
