Whispers Beyond the Firelight | Ep 165

Robert O. Bowers — Strange Encounters in the Oklahoma Wilderness

In this episode of Cryptic Chronicles, Tim Hacker sits down with author and lifelong outdoorsman Robert O. Bowers, also known as Uncle Rob.

Robert shares strange experiences from decades spent hunting, fishing, and exploring the Oklahoma wilderness—including mysterious creatures, unusual tracks, ghostly encounters, strange lights, UFO phenomena, and the eerie story of Mona of the Plains. We also discuss how these experiences inspired his Campfire Tales from Uncle Rob series, along with his cryptid-horror fiction including Red Eyes at Black Mesa and Have Dog Will Travel.

Were these simply unusual encounters in remote places—or is Robert really the “weird magnet” his wife says he is?
