487: Destination Linux 487: Rocco Returns! AI Debates, Orion Browser Axed & F‑Droid 2.0

In Destination Linux Episode 487, Ryan hosts an episode packed with open‑source news, community stories, and the triumphant return of Rocco, bringing that classic Big Daddy Linux energy back to the show for the second time in a single month.

We kick things off with heartfelt community feedback from O.C. Supertoner, followed by a lively discussion about AI‑generated code and whether Linux users should embrace or reject LLM‑assisted development. Rocco shares his thoughts on the new Hylki email client for GNOME and the growing debate around AI contributions in open‑source projects.

Zeb covers the end of the Orion browser for Linux and the implications of Kagi open‑sourcing its codebase. He also dives into the Netherlands’ bold move to adopt a Nix‑based government desktop after sanctions disrupted ICC access to Microsoft services, plus Amazon blocking Meta’s AI shopping agent.

It’s a fun, fast‑moving episode full of laughs, insights, and the open‑source passion that makes Destination Linux feel like home.
