156: The Be-Lo Murders | Lying in Wait After Closing

On June 6, 1993, an armed man robbed the Be-Lo Supermarket in Windsor, North Carolina, before forcing six employees to the back of the store.

There, the employees were directed to bind each other before the gunman attacked them with a gun and a butcher knife. Three of the victims died, while three survived.

Despite the survivors helping investigators create a composite sketch, more than 33 years later, no one has ever been arrested. The triple homicide remains unsolved, and investigators are still searching for the person, or people, responsible.

If you have information about this case, please call the Windsor Police Department (252) 794-3111. A $30,000 reward is available.
