#131 Creativity Creates Harmony: Fear, Healing, and The Quest for Wonder with Julie Lavender LeDoux

In this episode, I sat down with Julie Lavender Le Doux to talk about what happens when fear stops running your life and creativity takes its place. Julie shared her journey through performance anxiety, trauma, parenting heartbreak, and the long process of learning to live from wonder instead of fear. We explored how that personal transformation shaped her work as an author, musician, and creator of The Amazings Series, a middle-grade fiction world built around courage, nonconformity, imagination, and the battle against manipulation and conformity.

Our conversation moved through big themes: trauma healing, storytelling, education, propaganda, parenting, and why wonder matters so much for both kids and adults. Julie explained how her books use metaphor, humor, and adventure to help families talk about difficult real-world issues without crushing a child’s spirit. We also talked about the importance of doing hard things, stepping out of the comfort zone, and reclaiming imagination, presence, and honest conversation in a world that often rewards fear, distraction, and obedience.
