The Texas Rangers just missed out on the 2026 MLB playoffs, losing out on the American League West to the Astros on the final day of the regular season. The Astros were the No. 3 seed in the AL and got to play host to the sixth-seeded Chicago White Sox despite having only an 81-81 record. Houston played like a .500 team, actually a sub-.500 team, in getting swept at home in two games. Their pitching was no good, and their offense flopped. How would the Rangers have fared? Possibly about the same.
