Bruce Campbell on Ernie & Emma, Independent Filmmaking and Life After Evil Dead

Bruce Campbell joins Heather Brooker to talk about his deeply personal new film, Ernie & Emma. Campbell wrote, directed, produced and stars in the bittersweet story of a widower following his late wife’s final instructions and learning how to move forward after loss.

The Evil Dead icon discusses returning to his independent filmmaking roots, financing the movie with his wife, Ida Gearon, and why he calls Ernie & Emma a “sunrise story.” He also explains the unexpected connection between his character being known as “The Pear Guy” and his own lifelong association with Ash Williams.
