The Tai-Ex opened down 174-points this morning from Friday's close, at 46,010

on turnover of 8.2-billion N-T.

The market moved sharply lower on Friday, led by the electronics sector, amid

growing fears over an interest rate hike by the U-S Federal Reserve and a

surge in international crude oil prices.

Earthquakes rattle east coast area

No damage or injuries are being reported following this morning's earthquakes

that rattled Hualien.
