But the venture capital macro picture is a paradox: H1 2026 funding reached approximately €5.3 billion, up 14 percent year over year, while the deal count fell 11 percent to 354 rounds. Two-thirds of capital flowed to rounds above €50 million. At the bottom of the funnel, Berlin pre-seed funding is down 65 percent since 2022, according to the BACB position paper.
