Oldham Parties to the Boon Army — Clint Boon on growing up, music and belonging.
In this episode of Forever Mancunians, Sophie Sveinsson sits down with Clint Boon to explore the experiences that shaped him from a young age. Growing up working class in Oldham, and living above the family shop, Clint learned early on what community really meant — the people around you, the stories they shared and the sense of belonging that came from being part of something bigger.
He talks about music becoming his extended family, the people and places that gave him a sense of identity, and how that connection has stayed with him throughout his life. Clint also opens up about rejection — how he has experienced it, how he deals with it, and why learning to keep going can be one of the most important lessons of all.
A conversation about community, belonging, music, resilience and the people who make us who we are.
