Sacrifice for the System | When Missions Giving Becomes Spiritual Abuse – SPECIAL LIVE

<p>In this Grace Escape LIVE special, we examine Josh Herring’s “The Uncomfortable Church” sermon at POA and ask when biblical generosity crosses the line into spiritual coercion. We look at how passages about Barnabas, Ananias and Sapphira, sacrificial giving, revival, family salvation, and “God giving you a number” are used to make an institutional financial decision feel like obedience to God. Along the way, we open the passages Josh did not, compare similar giving appeals from other Pentecostal preachers, and ask what Scripture actually says about voluntary giving, conscience, and compulsion. The issue is not generosity or missions, it is what happens when fear, divine authority, and promised spiritual outcomes are attached to how much money you give.<em>Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. - 2 Corinthians 9:7 ESV</em></p><p><br></p><p><strong>Last Episode:</strong></p><p><a href="https://youtu.be/ZQsIMbnUOz8">Were You Taught to Read the Bible Wrong? | How to Start Over After Religious Control – EP146</a></p><p><br></p><p><strong>Show Links:</strong></p><p><a href="https://www.youtube.com/live/AqWddww5ZZ8?si=kHevV5b_rz93OsTb">Josh Herring - “The Uncomfortable Church”</a></p><p><a href="https://www.youtube.com/live/4RYXZqffxz8?si=JQtzeEldbQbUa6RF&t=2365">Josh Herring - “Ananias &amp; Sapphira duplicate”</a></p><p><a href="https://www.youtube.com/live/PEed_4bto-M?si=CfDDxyWZdzKc0xzc&t=2341">Nathan Holmes - “give, God will give back”</a></p><p><a href="https://www.youtube.com/live/g-YhoyampVI?si=2FQpmKrEZppzUpkq&t=2616">Aaron Bounds - “God will speak a number”</a></p><p><a href="https://www.youtube.com/live/IdESPrUYIjo?t=4039s">Todd Johnson - “missions compulsion”</a></p><p><a href="https://youtu.be/xOuNFS0nltQ">Nathan Holmes - Copyrighted Episode</a></p><p><br></p><p><strong>Playlists:</strong></p><p><a href="https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL1aRj7l1t4f9ERikAYlc4GW3U04LgI0uW">Full Podcast Playlist - Youtube</a></p><p><a href="https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL1aRj7l1t4f9mstgSEcS7VDrX2J4PHmzl&utm_source=chatgpt.com">Holiness Standards</a></p><p><a href="https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL1aRj7l1t4f-xWOOZI8ygTa2bjHotSzfh&utm_source=chatgpt.com">The Church Building</a></p><p><a href="https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL1aRj7l1t4f-wcgovpsEwfpV02tWpwXAZ&utm_source=chatgpt.com">Examining Pentecostalism</a></p><p><a href="https://www.youtube.com/playl
