Genghis Khan Killed So Many People It Cooled the Planet - EP 321
Here's a fact that sounds made up but isn't: the Mongol Empire killed on such a massive scale that scientists say it measurably cooled the entire planet. I open this one with that because it's the strangest doorway I've ever found into a conversation about anxiety, gratitude and perspective.
Almost everyone I talk to is quietly drowning in it right now. AI taking their job, the economy, the political circus, the phone that's always listening, disaster after disaster absorbed at two in the morning. I'm not going to tell you none of that matters. I'm going to do something more useful, give you the kind of perspective that actually shuts the anxiety up.
Because once you really sit with what almost every other human who ever lived had to survive, something shifts. Your nervous system starts to understand what I think most of us have completely forgotten about the lives we're living and how rare they actually are.
In this episode I break down why you might be the single luckiest human being who has ever drawn breath, why your anxiety and your gratitude are the exact same energy pointed in opposite directions and the simple thing you can say to yourself that drains the panic almost on contact. You're not a victim of this era. Once you see why, it's hard to feel the same way about your problems again.
