Based on the scene, and the fact that Mica had purchased a gun en route to the location, investigators almost immediately ruled the case a suicide. However, as details about her marriage with JP came to light, people soon learned that Mica had been trapped in a relationship rife with sexual abuse, spiritual manipulation, and threats of violence.
