Paul Chambers is an associate senior fellow in the ISEAS-Yusof Ishak Institute’s Thailand Studies programme. A prominent scholar best known for his expertise on the military’s role in Thai politics, Paul Chambers has spent more than two decades off-and-on in Thailand, both teaching and researching. His other books include Khaki Capital: The Political Economy of the Military in Southeast Asia (co-edited, NIAS 2017).

Duncan McCargo is President’s Chair in Global Affairs at Nanyang Technological University.
