Metal Mayhem ROC: Prong’s Tommy Victor on the New Self-Titled Album and Revisiting Cleansing

Prong’s Tommy Victor joins Metal Walt on Metal Mayhem ROC to

discuss the band’s new self-titled album and how revisiting Cleansing more than

30 years later helped shape its sound. The guitarist and vocalist reflects on

reconnecting with the raw approach and New York roots behind Prong’s music.

They explore the attitude driving “The Banner” and Andy

Sneap’s role in stripping the new recordings back to their essentials. Victor

also gets candid about the financial realities of keeping Prong going, European

touring plans, and the challenges of securing U.S. dates—a conversation about

making heavy music and finding reasons to keep moving forward.
