The Cartographer of the Numinous — Stanislav Grof, LSD, and the Map of What Moses Saw

A Czech psychiatrist named Stanislav Grof spent fifty years sitting with people as the reducing valve opened — mapping what surfaces when the ordinary mind's careful management of consciousness is removed. What he found was not chaos. Not psychosis. Not the random firings of a chemically disrupted brain.

Structure. Pattern. And at the end of the map — Moses on the mountain, the Eleusinian initiates, the Vedic rishis, and the Tibetan Book of the Dead. All waiting for him. All describing the same territory.

This episode follows the thread from Hofmann's bicycle ride through Basel in 1943 through Grof's fifty years of documentation through the perinatal matrices and the Bardo teachings — and arrives at Alice falling through the dissolution sequence and Thompson in bat country as the two possible relationships to the same territory.

With preparation. Or without.

The Six Yogas of Naropa are the training for learning to fall like Alice.

The valve opens. The territory is real.
