THE COMING SURRENDER OF WOMEN TO PATRIARCHY: GOOD OR BAD?
A Biblical Return? Or Desperate Counterfeits? For generations, modern feminism has taught women that male authority is oppression, motherhood is a limitation, dependence is degrading, and personal autonomy is the highest good. But what happens when rebellion against God's created order finally produces loneliness, fatherlessness, broken homes, confused sexual identities, weakened men - and desperation? Isaiah describes a society in which mature and honorable men disappear, women and children rule, the daughters of Zion become haughty, and sin is displayed without shame. Yet after judgment falls and "thy men shall fall by the sword," the situation is dramatically reversed: Isaiah 4:1 And in that day seven women shall take hold of one man, saying, We will eat our own bread, and wear our own apparel: only let us be called by thy name, to take away our reproach. Is our culture beginning to follow a similar pattern? Many women are rediscovering the value of masculine protection, provision, leadership, marriage, motherhood, and a husband's name. That may appear to be movement in the right direction - but desperation is not necessarily repentance. The collapse of feminism could produce biblical restoration for many. But for others, it could produce dangerous counterfeits: polygamy, male tyranny, sexual exploitation, perverse movements, etc. Women must reject rebellion against God's order. But men must also reject passivity, pornography, fornication, cowardice, bitterness, and cruel domination. The answer is not a war between the sexes. It is the surrender of both sexes to Jesus Christ and the ways of the Bible.
