Her 21-year-old daughter, Snehal Gaware, had been missing since the previous afternoon. Then she noticed something small. A thermos that always sat in the storage under Snehal&#39;s bed was lying on the floor. When she opened the bed box to put it back, she found the answer the whole building had been searching for all night. Snehal had never left the house. And her mother had spent the night sleeping on that very bed.Snehal was a final-year engineering student, popular in college, close to her parents, and recovering at home with her leg in a plaster after a trekking injury. She could barely walk on her own. On July 19, both her parents left for work as usual. At 3:28 PM, her mother received a message from Snehal. It was blank. By evening, the front door was open, the bedroom door was shut from the outside, a full glass of water sat untouched on the table, and Snehal&#39;s phone was unreachable.In this video, we go through the entire case: the night-long search, the discovery, the postmortem findings, the missing phone and gold chain, and why police ruled out robbery. We look at how suspicion moved between the family and Snehal&#39;s boyfriend Hiren Rathod, the missing office attendance register, the switched-off phone, the mobile dealer&#39;s sketch, and the polygraph and BEOSP tests of 2008. The case was handed to the CBI in 2010, and in January 2011 the investigating officer recommended Hiren&#39;s release.
