Muggins Mouse

These vintage children's books from the Rand McNally Tip-Top Elf series follow the adventures of small rodents navigating the world. One story centers on Muggins Mouse, a tidy character who narrowly escapes a hungry cat and a dangerous trap before realizing the safety of his home. The second source introduces a Smart Little Mouse who resides in an oak tree and enjoys playing with his forest companions, such as a squirrel and a rabbit. Both tales use rhyming verse and vibrant illustrations to depict the dangers animals face from predators like foxes and cats. Collectively, these sources serve as whimsical moral fables that emphasize the importance of caution and the comfort of family. Through their journeys, the tiny protagonists learn that while the outside world is exciting, security is found within their own dwellings.
