The C.​O.​W.​S. The Memoirs of Robert & Mabel Williams Part 10 9/​11 ✈️, Not All White People Are Racist?

The Katherine Massey Book Club @ The C.O.W.S. hosts Session 10 on The Memoirs of Robert & Mabel Williams: African American Freedom, Armed Resistance, & International Solidarity. Moving forward from last week's travels be China and Vietnam, we'll pick up with Chapter 54.

Recapping last week and Robert Williams' increased commitment to publicizing their Counter-Violence views, we saw the ongoing and widespread resistance he faced from White and non-white people who insisted that not all White people are Racist:

Not All White People Are Racist? A major them of Robert's memoir seems to be the struggle - or near mandate - to find some people classified as White who are not Racist. A number of White and non-white people chastise Mr. Williams for not including or discussing Racism in a way that allows for "good White people." Gus T. has faced similar criticisms for rejecting 'Not All White People Are Racist' dogma.

Buckets of Words: White and non-white people deluged Robert Williams with every term imaginable. Marxist Leninist. Communist. Nationalist. Black Nationalist. Revolutionary. Counter-Revolutionary. None of these terms have been defined and it frequently seems like a refined form of name-calling when applying these labels to non-white people.

No Love for Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.: Gus noted 2 key dates are highlighted in Williams work. September 1963. And April 1968. In the former he laments the bombing of the Birmingham, Alabama church, and later on he details his talks on Racism in China. Williams remains mum about the August 1963 March on Washington and the April 1968 assassination of Dr. King. Doesn't even share how King's murder was reported internationally. "If you can't say anything nice..."
