The Velvet Candles Bring Doo-Wop From Spain to America | The Chazz Palminteri Show | Episode 296

In Episode 296 of The Chazz Palminteri Show, I sit down with The Velvet Candles, a Doo-Wop group from Barcelona, Spain, along with my good friend Dr. Gabriel Dassa, who is helping bring the group to America.

We discuss the history of Doo-Wop, the group's experiences performing throughout Europe, and why this music continues to connect with audiences of all ages. Gabriel shares how he discovered The Velvet Candles and why he believes American audiences need to hear them.

I also share memories of growing up in the Bronx surrounded by Doo-Wop music and talk about legendary groups and singers including Dion and the Belmonts, The Cadillacs, Johnny Maestro and The Skyliners.

It's a conversation about music, nostalgia, the Bronx, European Doo-Wop, and keeping the sounds of the 1950s and '60s alive for new generations.
