Lesson 16: Memory and Intuition — The Past is the Key to the Future
There's a rare condition where people remember everything — every conversation, every ordinary Tuesday, with perfect fidelity. It sounds like a superpower. The people who have it call it a burden.
Your mind doesn't work that way, and that's not a limitation — it's the design. Most of what you know isn't even the kind of memory you can consciously reach. It's a vast implicit undercurrent, built from a lifetime of exposure, that quietly recognizes a room, a coffee mug, a phone, without retrieving a single specific moment you learned any of it. And when that same system does something more — joins pieces of experience into a connection nobody handed you — that's intuition. Not a lesser cousin of memory. For most animals, including you, it's the primary mode of thought.
