New Horizons Exploration and Europa Clipper

Alan Stern and David Livingston: Stern reflects on the New Horizons spacecraft’s 2015 Pluto flyby, revealing active surface geology, and its subsequent Kuiper Belt exploration, including the contact-binary object Arrokoth. Stern highlights ongoing heliosphere measurements as the probe travels toward interstellar space. They also discuss NASA’s Europa Clipper mission, launched to investigate Jupiter’s icy moon Europa, detailing its suite of nine scientific instruments designed to assess subsurface ocean habitability and possible organic signature plume sprays.
