54. The Beast of Gévaudan

During the summer of 1764, the mountains and forests of southern France run red with blood. A terrifying, oversized beast is slaughtering women and children, yet completely bypassing their flocks of sheep. Panic sweeps the nation, drawing the attention of none other than the king himself. But even royal hunters are powerless against the monster, and over a hundred people die before it is finally stopped.
