<p>Meditation is mental training that helps you become familiar and comfortable with your own mind. You want that so you can get your mind on your side. And there are really only two ways to get it: the traditional thirty minutes each morning, or the Frictionless Way, which builds meditation into the life you are already living.<br>Key themes:</p><ul><li>Why so much of what is sold as meditation is vague and unhelpful, and what real practice looks like</li><li>Meditation as a modern version of practices going back three thousand years</li><li>Two binary choices: sit daily or go frictionless, and then walk or walk mindfully</li><li>Walking meditation as the model mandatory practice, with a phone alarm as the trigger</li><li>Why are the frictionless practices chosen for being universal rather than clever</li><li>Default mode: rumination, worry, the inner critic, and the habit of complaint</li></ul><p>The guided practice opens with awareness of the movement of the present moment through time, then widens into ambient sound as a portal into the present moment.
