Jay spent 17 years playing professional baseball. His journey took him from the minor leagues to Major League Baseball. He also played internationally in Japan, Mexico and Venezuela.

Today, Jay is focused on the next generation. His mission is to help young athletes build confidence, character and mental toughness. That mission became the Smile Zone.

Jay created the word SMILE as an acronym:

That simple message is at the center of his work. Jay wants athletes to enjoy their journey. He also wants them to understand that failure is part of growth.
