The language we use and the way we breathe have a tremendous impact on our mental health.

Mark England is a TEDx speaker and co-founder of Enlifted, and he's spent 19 years studying how words and breath create the story we live inside.

His definition of mindset stopped me cold: it's the story you tell yourself. That story is made of words. It's made of breath. You can't work on one without the other.

Mark walks me through the four categories of conflict language most people speak without realizing it: soft talk, negations, projections, and dramatics. He explains why "I guess I need to be more consistent" produces a completely different life than "I can be more consistent this week".

There's a story about a woman, a father who left, and how one word flipped her entire self-image. That moment alone is worth the listen.
