Chicago Bears Get HUGE Kyler Gordon Update: Does He Get His Starting Job Back?
Kyler Gordon is finally back on the practice field for the Chicago Bears, but does that automatically mean he gets his starting job back?
The Bears opened Gordon’s 21-day practice window after his lengthy recovery from a calf injury, and he was listed as an estimated FULL participant during Wednesday’s walkthrough. Now comes the interesting part.
Gordon has missed training camp, preseason and the beginning of the regular season, while other Bears defensive backs have had the opportunity to establish themselves in Dennis Allen’s defense. Malik Muhammad has received significant work in the slot, and Gordon now has to get back into football shape and build chemistry with a secondary he has barely practiced alongside.
On today’s Morning Breeze, Pat discusses whether Gordon should immediately return as Chicago’s starting nickel cornerback or whether Ben Johnson and Dennis Allen should make him earn those snaps back.
We’ll also break down what Gordon’s return could mean for Malik Muhammad, the Bears secondary and a defense beginning to get healthier as the season moves forward.
