Close call for early showers on 9/11 before clearing for sun and lower humidity

Friday, which marks the anniversary of Sept. 11, may start with clouds and perhaps a lingering shower, especially south of New York City. However, drier air will continue to move into the region, allowing skies to brighten through the morning and into the afternoon. Sunshine is expected to return by midday, with temperatures climbing to around 80 degrees and humidity levels remaining noticeably lower than recent days.
