119 years of roots. 606 days of becoming. One year of conversation.

One year ago, I launched Everybody Has Something to Say on my great-grandmother Nortie's birthday to honor a woman who began educating others at just sixteen years old.

Today, surrounded by the beautiful Loblolly Pines of North Carolina, I'm celebrating more than a podcast anniversary. I'm celebrating the people who shaped me, the lessons I've learned, and the freedom to decide what comes next.

What happens when we stop confusing love with authority, strength with control, and understanding with agreement?

And what becomes possible when we stop fighting ourselves and start cooperating with who we are?

This anniversary episode is about honoring our roots without being confined by them, recognizing the value in every human experience, and remembering why every voice deserves an opportunity to be heard.

Because everybody has something to say, and everybody has lived something worth understanding.
