The Tai-Ex opened up 37-points this morning from yesterday's close, at 48,391

on turnover of 16.8-billion N-T.

FDA fines probiotic firm for 7th time this year over kidney disease ads

The Food and Drug Administration has fined a probiotic seller 4-million N-T

so far this year for repeated violations over advertisements falsely claiming

that the product could "reverse kidney disease."

It seventh time the company has been fined this year.

According to the F-D-A, the Huo Hua Sheng probiotic product been ordered to

remove the offending (違法的) advertisements, while its endorser, nephrologist

Chiang Shou-shan, has been referred for disciplinary action.
