Letting Go | Overcoming Unmet Expectations
The opportunity didn’t come. The relationship didn’t become what you hoped. The prayer wasn’t answered the way you expected. And somewhere along the way, you stopped telling God how much it hurt.
Some disappointment comes from losing something. Some comes from never receiving it at all. Valarie reminds us that faith doesn’t require pretending we aren’t disappointed, and that buried disappointment doesn’t disappear. Left alone, it can quietly turn into bitterness, distance, or distrust. God isn’t threatened by your disappointment, and He always welcomes the conversation. Today’s prayer brings it to Him honestly, asking Him to heal what’s been broken, guard our hearts from bitterness, and help us trust His goodness even when we don’t understand the outcome.
Scripture anchor: Psalm 34:18, “The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.”
