Revelation 3:7–13 Philadelphia: A Church with an Open Door
What if the open doors Jesus provides look nothing like the ones we are praying for? In Revelation 3:7-13, Jesus addresses the church in Philadelphia, a small and seemingly powerless congregation, and praises them without a single rebuke. He honors their faithfulness, their patient endurance, and their refusal to deny His name, even when their own religious community rejected them. Jesus holds the key of David, meaning the door to eternal life and gospel opportunity is His to open and His alone. The world measures impact by platform size and influence, but Jesus measures it by faithfulness. He promises that those who hold fast to His name will be permanently marked as pillars in the eternal temple of God. The world's approval is temporary, but the honor Jesus gives is eternal. The door is already open. Walk through it faithfully.
