Fort Laramie - "Galvanized Yankee" (Old Time Radio, 1956)

Fort Laramie presents “Galvanized Yankee,” episode 37, originally broadcast on CBS on October 7, 1956. Written by Kathleen Hite and produced by Norman Macdonnell, the episode stars Raymond Burr as Captain Lee Quince.

Quince travels to Cheyenne to collect Army equipment and escort two new recruits back to Fort Laramie. One is a former Confederate prisoner of war who has enlisted in Union service—a “galvanized Yankee”—bringing old loyalties and distrust into the demanding world of frontier cavalry duty.

Fort Laramie presents the original broadcast with a newly produced contextual introduction, a short closing announcement, and gently cleaned and mastered audio for a more consistent listening experience.
