#159 Patient Partnership: Lived Experience Shaping Healthcare7 oct.43 min

In this episode of the HSE Talking Health and Wellbeing Podcast, host Noreen Turley speaks with Mandy Daly, co-founder of the Irish Neonatal Health Alliance (INHA), about the power of equal, meaningful patient partnership in shaping healthcare, research and policy within our HSE. Drawing on her personal journey as the parent of a premature baby, Mandy shares how lived experience can drive systemic change, from neonatal ambulance services to national clinical guidelines. The conversation explores how patient voices, education and collaboration with healthcare professionals are helping to shape better services, safer clinical trials and stronger healthcare regulation, both here in Ireland and across Europe. Mandy discusses her work with IPPOSI, the PPI toolkit and educational resources that empower patients to become genuine, equal partners in decision-making, and reflects on the trust, communication and compassion needed to build lasting patient-clinician collaboration.
