Jeremiah Smith, Buckeyes too much for Iowa, Hawks drop first game of the season

Iowa held firm against fifth ranked Ohio State for a half, but Jeremiah Smith and the Buckeyes were just too much, pulling away to win 31-14.

Missed opportunities in the first half killed the Hawkeyes chance of keeping this a game, with special teams errors, turnovers, and self-inflected penalties killing scoring opportunities.

Iowa drops its first game of the season to one of the best teams in the country and will fall in the polls, but still a lot to play for.
