Bringing Yiddish Back: Daniella Rabbani on New Album "Klezmerette" Ep. 886

Singer, actress and filmmaker Daniella Rabbani joins the show to talk about Klezmerette, her new album of ten classic Yiddish songs, out October 16. You may know her from Ocean's 8, HBO's Scenes from a Marriage and The Americans. The granddaughter of Holocaust survivors, Daniella has performed in Yiddish for more than 20 years, from Jazz at Lincoln Center to the State Jewish Theaters of Warsaw and Bucharest. She tells us why she made an album meant to answer rising antisemitism with Jewish pride and joy, and how losing her sister during the recording changed the music.
