I Spent So Much Time Trying To Prove People Wrong... Only To Discover This
Have you ever felt like you always have something to prove?
For much of my life, my first instinct when someone doubted me, judged me, or told me I couldn't do something was: I’ll show them.
Whether it was being doubted as an athlete, trying to prove my worth to certain people, dealing with negative comments about my speech challenges, being bullied— I always felt this need to prove people wrong.
And honestly, there is nothing wrong with wanting to prove the haters wrong. But what happens when you spend so much time trying to prove yourself to other people that you forget to prove things to yourself? What happens when you accomplish something and they still don't see your worth? And more importantly…why are we giving certain people the power to decide whether we're enough in the first place?
In this episode, I talk about why constantly feeling the need to prove yourself can leave you feeling empty, the danger of tying your self-worth to other people's opinions, and why sometimes the best thing you can do is take your power back and start living for yourself.
Because at the end of the day, you will never be enough for the wrong people—but you deserve to be enough for yourself. Tune in now…
