Reid Hoffman Gives $500,000 to Super PAC Backing Zach Dembo's Congressional Run (10/19/26)Nouveau13 min

LinkedIn co-founder Reid Hoffman contributed $500,000 on September 24, 2026, to Kentuckians Not Corruption, a super PAC supporting Democratic congressional nominee Zach Dembo in Kentucky’s 6th District. Hoffman’s past relationship with Jeffrey Epstein immediately became a campaign issue, with Republican nominee Ralph Alvarado attacking the contribution as “dirty Epstein-class money” and calling on Dembo to reject the support. The controversy was sharpened by Dembo’s own campaign message, which has focused heavily on the influence of wealthy donors and dark money in politics. The contribution did not go directly to Dembo’s campaign, however, and there was no evidence presented that Dembo solicited or coordinated the donation.

The super PAC dramatically increased its spending in the race as the campaign intensified, pouring substantial money into television advertising and other efforts to help Dembo. Alvarado used Hoffman’s documented ties to Epstein, including visits to Epstein properties and other contacts, to argue that Dembo was benefiting from the same kind of billionaire influence he had criticized on the campaign trail. The larger political problem for Dembo was therefore one of optics and consistency: even if the money came through an independent group, his candidacy was being boosted by a wealthy donor whose association with Epstein remains highly controversial, giving Republicans an opening to challenge Dembo’s anti-corruption message.
