The Pittsburgh Penguins are off to a 2-2 start — but this team is already giving us A LOT to talk about.

After blowing a 5-1 lead against Montreal before eventually winning 6-5 in overtime, Pittsburgh followed it up by giving up three goals in just 4:19 against Winnipeg. Through the first three games, the Penguins have dominated the first two periods but struggled badly in the third.

So… is this a great start, or are there warning signs?

In this episode, I break down the biggest storylines from the first three games:

🏒 Carlile’s breakout start — four points in three games after scoring just twice in his first 46 NHL games.

🔥 Evgeni Malkin making history at 40 years old.

👀 Sidney Crosby’s slow start — 10 shots, 59% shot share and 1.2 expected goals, but still no goals.

📈 Rutger McGroarty/Kindel and the young guys — especially 19-year-old Kindel, who is already doing something only Crosby and Jordan Staal have done in the last 30 years.

🔄 The line combinations — why is Nicholas Robertson on the fourth line after scoring twice in the opener?

⚠️ The third-period problem — Pittsburgh has been dominant early, but the late-game collapses are becoming impossible to ignore.

💥 The power play and penalty kill — a 40% power play and perfect penalty kill so far.

And then we get into the biggest question:

How do the Penguins fix this?

I’ll also look around the Metro Division, talk about the goalie situation, Malkin’s future, and preview the next matchup against Washington.

The Penguins are 2-1.

The start has been exciting.

But there are some BIG questions already.

Sports are not just games.

#Penguins #PittsburghPenguins #LetsGoPens #NHL #SidneyCrosby #EvgeniMalkin #Pittsburgh #KAICAST
