The story of zero

Zero is one of mathematics’ most profound inventions: a symbol for nothing that made new ways of thinking about numbers possible. Clemency Montelle traces its evolution across civilisations, from an empty placeholder to a number in its own right.

Guest: Clemency Montelle, Professor in the School of Mathematics and Statistics at the University of Canterbury, New Zealand
