On May 26, 1828, an emaciated teenager clutching a piece of paper was discovered stumbling through the streets of Nuremberg in the Kingdom of Bavaria. The boy claimed he had been locked in a dungeon for his entire life, unable to step foot outside the home of his captors. Witnesses claimed the boy had trouble walking and talking, but he seemed to be sincere in his claims. As authorities worked to discover the true identity of the teen, he would be targeted by assassins on more than one occasion, leading many to wonder…could this be the bastard child of the royal family? And, if not, why did so many people seemingly want him dead? On this week’s episode of Let’s Get Haunted, we seek to demystify the historic unsolved case of the Nuremberg Mystery Man.
