TAKEAWAYS from Jayhawks' Loss to KSU: Supporting Isaiah Marshall, Defense Concerns, Leipold & More

Kansas Jayhawks’ offense falters as Isaiah Marshall struggles, but is the young quarterback getting enough support from his team? Derek Johnson breaks down KU’s disappointing loss to Kansas State, spotlighting issues in run blocking, inconsistent play-calling, and a lack of reliable tight ends. While standout receivers Nik McMillan and Cam Pickett shine, persistent problems on the offensive line continue to expose Marshall, raising questions about Kansas’ player development and strategic adjustments.

Kansas’ defensive woes resurface as the unit gets gashed on the ground for a second straight week. With key players like Jalen Todd and Amir Herring underperforming, and missed tackles piling up, the Jayhawks face an uphill battle in the remaining Big 12 schedule. Can Lance Leipold turn things around with critical matchups against Baylor, TCU, and UCF looming? Get the latest Pro Football Focus grades, stats of note, and an honest outlook for KU football’s second-half prospects.
