Daniel Robinson: The Geologist Whose Jeep Was Found in the Arizona Desert

Daniel Cornelius Robinson was 24 and working as a field geologist near Buckeye, Arizona, when he disappeared on June 23, 2021. A coworker reportedly saw Daniel leave a well site near Cactus Road and Sun Valley Parkway in his blue 2017 Jeep Renegade, headed west. His father, David Robinson, reported him missing later that day.

On July 19, 2021, a rancher found Daniel’s Jeep overturned in a ravine several miles from the worksite. Police reported deployed airbags and personal belongings inside, including Daniel’s phone, wallet, keys, and clothing. Daniel was not with the vehicle.

This episode follows the documented timeline from Daniel’s field work and disappearance through the searches, the Jeep’s recovery, later cellphone-data analysis, and competing interpretations of the vehicle’s post-crash data. It separates police findings, family concerns, witness claims, and questions that remain unresolved. Buckeye Police continue to list the missing-person case as open; listeners with information should verify current contact details directly with the department before submitting a tip.
