How a Navy Veteran Turned Addiction and a 12-Day Coma Into Redemption

How a Navy Veteran Turned Addiction and a 12-Day Coma Into Redemption17 sept.47 min

What happens when the very thing meant to heal you nearly takes your life? Quincy was a reliable, hardworking  1st class Petty officer in the Navy with everything under control, until a routine dental procedure on deployment opened the door to an addiction and a cold turkey attempt at sobriety put him in a 12-day coma. This is the story of how he woke up, learned to walk and talk again, and found a faith that changed everything.

In this deeply honest conversation, Dr. Beth sits down with Quincy, a nine-year Navy veteran, to trace his path from a functional addiction that started with prescription painkillers to the moment his body shut down and a friend's quick thinking saved his life. Quincy opens up about growing up with a mother who struggled with the same drugs, his grief over the recent loss of a close cousin, and the intentional daily choices that keep him grounded today. What unfolds is a moving picture of resilience, second chances, and a man who now lights up talking about scripture, hope, and the God who met him at his lowest point.
