"87% Drop In 7 Years" Seattle Tower Sells $12.5M Under Katie Wilson's Watch

A 20-story downtown Seattle office tower — valued at nearly $97 million in 2019 — just sold for $12.5 million. That's an 87% collapse in seven years, and it is not a market correction. It is a policy failure with a name attached to it.

Seattle carries some of the highest commercial vacancy rates in the country while the city's newly elected mayor, Katie Wilson, pushes a budget that raises costs and drives employers out. The minimum wage is going up again. Businesses are making the short drive to Bellevue instead. The Plaza 600 tower sits directly across from Amazon's headquarters and is now worth less than a single luxury Eastside home.

Downtown Seattle keeps shedding jobs while Eastside cities keep gaining them. That arithmetic does not change until the policy does.

CHAPTERS
0:00 Seattle tower across from Amazon sold…
1:26 Seattle Tower Sells at 87% Discount
2:20 A Skyscraper for $12.5 Million in…
5:20 Plaza 600's Rise and Fall Near Amazon
7:30 Seattle Leads Nation in Office Vacancy
8:26 U.S. Bank Center Loses Half Its Value
9:23 Seattle Loses Jobs as Bellevue Gains
10:38 Buc-ee's Co-Founder Avoids Blue Cities
11:35 Jayapal Texts Governor After Mass…
14:39 Seattle Raises Minimum Wage as…
17:12 Starbucks Closes Four More Seattle…
18:55 Living Wage Impossible in Seattle's…
20:19 Aegis Founder Lists $71M Estate,…
22:14 Florida and Texas Gain House Seats

Subscribe to @reasonablenews for daily commentary on Pacific Northwest politics, urban policy, and the stories the rest of the media won't touch.

#NFRP #Seattle #SeattleRealEstate

GO PREMIUM WITH REASONABLE+ FOR UNCENSORED ACCESS 🌟
https://ReasonableTV.com/

🛍️ MERCH - https://Store.ReasonableTV.com/

💬 JOIN our FREE Discord Community!
