Trey Kaufman-Renn’s College Comeback | Purdue Boilermakers Basketball News

Trey Kaufman-Renn, a former Purdue star drafted in 2026, is suing the NCAA to play a sixth college season under the new five-for-five eligibility rule — arguing he’d have been eligible sooner if the policy existed then. Despite already playing five years including a redshirt, he believes he deserves an extra year and is eyeing lucrative NIL deals over pro contracts. His old coach was stunned by the move, while Trey’s Instagram post confirms his departure from Purdue — though he’ll always call it home. Six to seven schools are reportedly interested, and a court date for a permanent ruling looms.
