8.2.26 Back to Basics (Romans 3:21-31)4 août19 min

At the beginning of a new school year, you always start by going back to the basics. In math, might look like going over those basic facts of addition and subtraction. In language arts, might be going back over the steps to write a good essay. But what about in matters of faith? If we were to go back to the basics, what would we cover? We would cover the gospel—the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus that redeems us and declares us right with God, not because of our own righteousness, but because of his. That’s what the passage this morning shows us. Many of us go through life wondering: Am I loveable? Am I valuable? Does my life have meaning? Have I messed up too much and gone too far to be accepted? Passages like this help to see just how loved and valuable we are to God as God’s love is poured out. The purpose and meaning of our lives is found in Jesus.
