This is the slow, human story of the most wanted man in the British Empire: a boy who signed his own father's death certificate, a family taken apart by the law one member at a time, a suit of plough iron, and a scaffold in Melbourne where the words everyone remembers were written down by a man who could not hear them.

I have told a great many lives on this channel, and few have stayed with me the way this one has. Not for what the man did, but for how much of what we think we know about him was set down by everyone except the people who were actually in the room. Tonight, we go back and listen for what the record kept, and what it quietly let go.

If these stories give you somewhere quiet to rest, subscribe and let the next journey find you when you need it most.

Tell me one thing in the comments before you drift off: what is the temperature like where you are right now? Deep frost, mild evening, high summer heat? This story unfolds in a hard Australian winter, so I am curious where in the world you are listening from tonight.

--------

📚 Sources: https://docs.google.com/document/d/12aFyZcGGb96r1ec3ZbFUNkTNJwgBs9NVrKUBJd8Z-6E/edit?usp=sharing

💬 Comment where you're listening from, what time it is there, and anything you enjoyed about one of our recent episodes!

---------

DISCLAIMER ⚠️ This video is for informational & entertainment purposes only.
